Βιογραφικό

Η Μαριέλλα Μπιλίτσα γεννήθηκε το 1991 και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα.Tο 2016 αποφοίτησε από την Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών, Τμήμα Εικαστικών και Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών Φλώρινας. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε ομαδικές εκθέσεις σε Ελλάδα, Κύπρο και Αγγλία. Συνεργάζεται με την γκαλερί Isnotgallery στην Κύπρο και με την Braggart Gallery στη Λάρισα. Συμμετείχε στην Art Thessaloniki International Fair με την Braggart Gallery, καθώς και στις ομαδικές εκθέσεις, «Η ποιητική του χώρου», Μύλος του Παππά, Λάρισα, 2022, Braggart Gallery, «Ποια είναι η άλλη μισή Αρχοντιά» Μουσείο Αμπέλου Οίνου Αρχοντικό Σταυρού Καράσσου, Braggart Contemporary Gallery, 2022, Here Hear Me,Braggart Gallery, Joist, 2022

Biography

Mariella Bilitsa was born in 1991 and grew up in Athens.In 2016 she graduated from the School of Fine Arts, Department of Visual and Applied Arts of Florina. She has participated in group exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus and England. She collaborates with Isnotgallery in Cyprus and Braggart Gallery in Larissa. She participated in the Art Thessaloniki International Fair with Braggart Gallery, as well as in the group exhibitions, “The Poetics of Space”, Pappas Mill, Larissa, 2022, Braggart Gallery, “What is the other half of Archontia” Vine Vineyard Wine Museum, Stavros Karassos Mansion, Braggart Contemporary Gallery, 2022, Here Hear Me,Braggart Gallery, Joist, 2022

Εικαστική ιδέα

Η δουλειά μου είναι ένα μείγμα προσωπικών εμπειριών και συνειρμικών σκέψεων. Εμπνευσμένη από την απλή καθημερινή ζωή, τον άνθρωπο, τη σύνδεσή τους με τα ζώα, το φυσικό περιβάλλον, τα έργα μου καταλήγουν σε ένα σύνολο σύνθετων αφηγήσεων. Τα υλικά που χρησιμοποιώ συνήθως εξαρτώνται από την απεικόνιση του εκάστοτε έργου: κολάζ, ακρυλικά, νερομπογιές, λαδομπογιές, βρίσκονται πολύ συχνά στη δουλειά μου. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η σειρά έργων με τα κολάζ, είναι μία σειρά η οποία αποτελείται μόνο με επαναχρησιμοποιούμενα υλικά, όπως πλαστικές σακούλες και ρετάλια υφασμάτων. Υλικά άχρηστων αντικειμένων τα οποία συλλέγονται καθόλη την διάρκεια του χρόνου, ώστε στο τέλος να μεταμορφωθούν σε ένα εικαστικό έργο.

Λουόμενες γυναίκες, φίλες που δειπνούν, γείτονες που ποτίζουν τα λουλούδια, είναι μερικές από τις πολλές αναπαραστάσεις που θα συναντήσουμε στα έργα. Μία αφηγηματική προσέγγιση της καθημερινότητας η οποία προσκαλεί τον θεατή σε μια συνάντηση με πράγματα απλά και γνώριμα σε όλους τους ανθρώπους, τα οποία ωστόσο, συχνά συνδέονται με τρόπο απρόσμενο και παράδοξο. Μέσα από το πρίσμα του προσωπικού βιώματος και της ατομικής εμπειρίας ανιχνεύεται στα έργα το μυστήριο της ζωής, η αισιοδοξία και η χαρά της στιγμής, η επικοινωνία.

Το λουτρό ήταν μέρος της καθημερινότητας, εκεί συναντιόντουσαν οι κάτοικοι για να συζητήσουν τα τρέχοντα πολιτικά θέματα, για τις επιχείρησης τους έκλειναν συμφωνίες. Όλες οι κοινωνικές τάξεις ήταν παρόν στα λουτρά. Αρχικά η γυναίκες δεν επιτρεπόταν να το χρησιμοποιήσουν, όταν όμως άρχισαν να επισκέπτονται το λουτρό, ήταν σημείο κοινωνικοποίησης, έφερναν τα φαγητά και τα γλυκά τους, κουβέντιαζαν πίνοντας το τσάι τους , γλεντούσαν, ήταν μέρος διασκέδασης και χαλάρωσης. Όλα αυτά τα συναντούμαι στο έργο της Μαριέλλας Μπιλίτσα. Μέσα από τις γυναίκες που απεικονίζονται στα έργα της, αφουγκραζόμαστε τις γυναίκες όλων των κοινωνικών τάξεων που περνούσαν το χρόνο τους, επισκέπτονταν το λουτρό, για κοινωνικές συναντήσεις διασκέδαση και για την περιποίηση του σώματος.

Artist's Statement

My work is a mixture of personal experiences and associative thoughts. Inspired by my everyday life, by humans, their connection to animals, by the natural environment, my works end up in a set of complex narratives. The materials I usually use depend on the depiction of each project: collage, acrylics, watercolors, oil paints, are very often in my work. More precisely, the series of works with collages, is a series that consists only of reusable materials, such as plastic bags and fabric retaliation. Materials of useless objects that are collected throughout the year, so that in the end they are transformed into a work of art.

“Sunday Mondays”, Braggart Gallery, 2023

Bathing women, friends having dinner, neighbours watering flowers are some of the many representations to be found in the works. A narrative approach to everyday life that invites the viewer to an encounter with things that are simple and familiar to all people, yet often connected in an unexpected and paradoxical way. Through the prism of personal experience and individual experience, the mystery of life, the optimism and joy of the moment, and communication are traced in the works.

The bathhouse was part of everyday life, where the inhabitants met to discuss current political issues, for their businesses they made deals. All social classes were present in the baths. Initially women were not allowed to use it, but when they started to visit the baths, it was a point of socialization, they brought their food and sweets, chatted while drinking their tea , feasted, it was a place of fun and relaxation. All this is found in the work of Mariella Bilica. Through the women depicted in her works, we listen to the women of all social classes who spent their time, visiting the bathhouse, for social gatherings fun and for body care.
