H Γεωργία Μανταλιά, αποφοίτησε τον Ιούνιο του 2022 με «’Άριστα» από την Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών, Τμήμα Εικαστικών και Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών του Π.Δ.Μ. με κατεύθυνση τη Ζωγραφική και εμβάθυνση τη Χαρακτική. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε εκθέσεις, φεστιβάλ και workshops στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Ενδεικτικά : Fichti Art Festival 2022 σε συνεργασία με τις Σχολές Καλών Τεχνών των Αθηνών και της Φλώρινας και Αρχιτεκτονικές Σχολές της Μασσαλίας, Παρισίου και Θεσσαλονίκης. ARTIST LAB 2022 OPEN ART Ηλεκτροακουστικά Περιβάλλοντα. Πρόγραμμα Επιμόρφωσης, Κατάρτισης και Διά Βίου Μάθησης του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου. Workshops του εργαστηρίου ΠΟΙΩ MAKER SPACE του Δήμου Αθηναίων και στο διαδικτυακό workshop COVID-MAPPING:ΤΟ ΠΟΡΤΡΑΙΤΟ ΤΗΣ ΠΟΛΗΣ ΣΕ ΣΥΝΘΗΚΕΣ ΚΡΙΣΗΣ. Χαρτογράφηση & Εικαστική Αναπαράσταση της Εικόνας της Πανδημίας στον Αστικό Δημόσιο Χώρο, σε συνεργασία με Σχολές Αρχιτεκτόνων Μηχανικών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου, του Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλίας και του Πολυτεχνείου Κρήτης. Τέλος, έχει συμμετάσχει σε φεστιβάλ όπως στο Memoriam Walking Festival 2022 (Λευκάδα), Xenakis 22: Centenary International Symposium(Ναύπλιο) στο Athens Digital Art Festival 2022, στο Platforms Project 2021 και Platforms Project NET 2021 Teaser όπου στο τελευταίο συνεργάστηκε με την εικαστική ομάδα ΕΝ ΦΛΩ. Παράλληλα, συμμετείχε στο mapping projection ΔΙΚΤΥΑ στο κτίριο Γούναρη στη Φλώρινα.

Biography

Georgia Mantalia, graduated in June 2022 with a «distinction» from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia, with a major in Painting and a minor in Printmaking. She has participated in several exhibitions, festivals and workshops in Greece and abroad. Mentioning selectively, she has participated in Fichti Art Festival 2022 where she collaborated with fine arts and architecture schools, in ARTIST LAB 2022 OPEN ART Electroacoustic Environments, Education, Training and Lifelong Learning Program of the Ionian University, in workshops of the workshop POIO MAKER SPACE of the municipality of Athens and in the online workshop COVID-MAPPING: CITY PORTRAIT IN CRISIS CIRCUITS, Mapping & visual representation of the pandemic in the urban public space, in collaboration with Schools of Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens, the University of Thessaly and the Technical University of Crete. Furthermore, she has participated in festivals such as Memoriam Walking Festival 2022 (Lefkada), Xenakis 22: Centenary International Symposium (Nafplio), Athens Digital Art Festival 2022, Platforms Project 2021 and Platforms Project NET 2021 Teaser where she collaborated with the visual arts group EN FLO. At the same time, she participated in DITTYA mapping projection at the Gounari’s building in Florina.

Εικαστική ιδέα

Κεντρικό άξονα του έργου της αποτελεί ο πειραματισμός με ψηφιακά μέσα τα όποια συνομιλούν με κατασκευές στο χώρο, μελετώντας οντολογικά και κοσμογονικά ζητήματα. Ως κύριο στόχος στην εικαστική της έρευνα τίθεται η μελέτη σχέσεων αναλογικού χώρου (υλικού)και ψηφιακού (άυλου) χώρου -ως μεταφορά πληροφοριών από τον ένα στον άλλο μελετώντας αποτελέσματα που προκύπτουν κατά την μεταφορά πληροφοριών ανάμεσα στα δύο περιβάλλοντα.

Μέσω της ψηφιακότητας η εικόνα μπορεί να καταστεί ως δίαυλος επικοινωνίας. Ο ψηφιακός χώρος ως το πλέον δημοκρατικό και βιώσιμο μέσο, μπορεί απευθύνεται σε ένα ευρύτερο κοινωνικό σύνολο, σε ακαθόριστο χρόνο, μεταφέροντας και παρουσιάζοντας πληροφορίες μακρινών, μη προσβάσιμων ή ακόμα και φαντασιακών τόπων, οπουδήποτε, οποτεδήποτε.

Στο προβαλλόμενο τρισδιάστατο περιβάλλον, παρουσιάζεται ένα πλέγμα εντυπώσεων του χώρου όπου γίνεται η προβολή. Ο αρχιτεκτονικός χώρος του εσωτερικού του JOIST Innovation Park, μετατρέπεται σε μικρές ψηφιακές ψηφίδες [pixels], οι οποίες συντάσσονται αρμονικά και πλάθουν την προβαλλόμενη πληροφορία. Μέσω της βίντεο προβολής, η αναλογική εικόνα του χώρου απλοποιείται. Εκεί οι όγκοι μεταφράζονται δίνοντας επεκτατική ιδιότητα στις ψηφίδες οι οποίες οργανώνουν και οργανώνονται χωρικά χωρίς να μεταβάλλονται, παραμένοντας σε μία αέναη λούπα, σε αντίθεση με την δραστηριότητα που πάντα υπάρχει και διαφοροποιεί τον αναλογικό χώρο σε κάθε χρονική στιγμή.

Artist's Statement

The central axis of her work is the experimentation with digital media that converse with constructions in space, studying ontological and cosmogonic issues. The main objective of her visual research is to study the relationship between analogue space (material) and digital (immaterial) space – as a transfer of information from one to the other – by studying the results that arise during the transfer of information between the two environments.

Through digitality, an image can be used as a channel of communication. The digital space, as the most democratic and sustainable medium, can reach out to a wider community, in an indefinite time, carrying and presenting information of distant, inaccessible or even imaginary places, anywhere, anytime.

In the projected three-dimensional environment. The architectural space of the JOIST Innovation Park’s interior is transformed into small pixels, which are harmoniously composed and shape the projected information. Through video projection, the analogue image of the space is dematerialised. There the volumes are translated giving expansive property to the pixels which are organized and arranged spatially without changing, remaining in a perpetual loop, in contrast to the activity that always exists and differentiates the spatial analogue spaceat every moment of time.
